  • Meditate to  clear your mind and focus on the day ahead.
  • Make a list of things you are grateful for to appreciate what you have in life.
  • Practise visualisation techniques to help you be more present and mindful.
  • Spend time practising yoga or doing a workout you enjoy
  • Have a filling and satisfactory breakfast such as eggs and toast.
  • Go about the rest of your day  with a positive attitude.

Habits For A Healthy Mind And Body

Once you have tweaked and established a daily routine, you can start incorporating some of these habits. Some of these habits will be easier to do than others. I start with simple practices, and once I gather momentum, I move on to the tougher ones. 

Drink Water! 

This may be cliche, but it’s a crucial habit when building up your daily routine for a healthy body and mind.

To start, drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water every day. Dehydration is a common issue for many people and can lead to fatigue, low energy levels, dry skin, among other things.

Get Adequate Sleep 

The amount of sleep you need varies from person to person, but the consensus is that everyone needs between seven and nine hours per night. Not getting enough sleep can leave you feeling tired, unfocused and irritable.

Eat Well 

Eating well is easier when you have a plan in place so pack your lunch for work or school ahead of time to help ensure that you are making healthy choices throughout the day! 

Breakfast is an important meal because it gives us energy in the morning after our overnight fast. It also helps us stay focused and alert because the brain needs glucose to function.

Exercise Daily 

Regular exercise can help us sleep better, feel more energized throughout the day, reduce stress levels, prevent disease and even increase our happiness!

 Everyone should aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day, such as walking or biking, instead of commuting by car.

It’s easy to get caught up in stimuli from our phones or other electronic devices, but we need to learn how to separate ourselves from those things and concentrate on what is happening here and now.

Pick Up A Hobby

Hobbies are something that everyone should have in their life. They can be anything from gardening to cooking, painting or photography etc. Hobbies help us stay grounded both mentally and physically.

Make sure your new hobby is not time-consuming. It’s crucial to ensure that our hobbies are not overly time-consuming because we can get caught up in them and forget about their daily responsibilities. 

If you are spending excessive time on your hobby that leaves less time for other activities, try to re-evaluate that decision and add some more practical activities into your life.

Give Out Something 

Giving out something to others is a great way to feel happy and increase your happiness levels. Try donating some clothes, toys or even volunteering at the local food bank. 

It’s important to give something every day, even if it is small, because you will feel happier throughout the day!

Stay Grateful

You can also make a list of things you are grateful for. This is an excellent practice when creating a daily routine for a healthy body and mind.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions we can feel, so writing down a list of things you are thankful for every day is a great way to boost your mood.

Teaching something to someone who doesn’t know it is a great way to feel accomplished and be happy! You must be patient with yourself and the other person because it can be difficult to explain something differently. 

If you are having trouble explaining yourself try using analogies or even visualizing it in your mind!

Get Up Early

You must get enough sleep at night, but getting up earlier than usual will give you some extra time in the morning to do things that make you feel good. This could include taking a walk, meditating or practising yoga etc.

When you wake up early, you will have more time to complete tasks and get things done. Waking up early also means that you can finish jobs earlier before your day gets busy and you don’t have time for them.

It will make you feel better about yourself. Trust me on that!

If getting up early is not possible, try taking a nap during the day. Getting enough sleep at night is very important, but napping during the day can be a great way to recharge your batteries.

Ensure that the nap is short and not longer than an hour because it can make it harder to sleep at night.

Limit your use of social media

Social media can be a great way to stay connected with friends and family, but spending too much time on it can negatively affect us. 

Try limiting your social media time to an hour or less per day and spend the rest of your free time away from technology.

Limit screen-time before bed

I am sure you know this, the blue light that emits from screens can make it harder for us to sleep at night, so limiting our use of electronics before bed is essential. 

Try reading a book, listening to music or even getting a massage to get yourself relaxed before you sleep!

Travel when you can

Travelling is fun, and it can be a great way to learn about different cultures. Travelling can also be a great way to boost your happiness levels because it’s exciting and you see new things. 

Try travelling when you can, even if it is just going on a short hike in the park!
